BEFORE THE PRESS OMBUDSMAN

In the matter between:

STATISTICS SOUTH AFRICA                                            Complainant

and

INDEPENDENT NEWSPAPERS (PTY) LTD                               Respondent

 SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT
_____________________________________________________________

The parties hereby agree as follows:

1 The statement attached hereto as Annexure “A” will be published on page 3 of all editions of The Star, Pretoria News and The Mercury (with appropriate changes in the statement to the names of the newspapers where applicable).

2 This settlement agreement is in full and final settlement of the complaint in relation to the publication of the articles concerned.
